So Close!!

We're getting so close that it's starting to drive me crazy!!!! As of today I have 3 weeks and 6 days left before my due date (but who's counting?), and I must say that I really hope that's too far away! I went for my check-up last week and everything is still going just fine. The doctor estimated the baby to be about 5 1/2 lbs, so he should be close to the same size Russell was (6 lbs, 5 oz). I have been having tons of those Braxton Hicks contractions, but he said I'm far enough along that they won't give me anything to stop them, and until they turn into real contractions they'll just have to be a nuisance that I deal with. Great! I asked if they would start checking to see if I've dilated and he said no, that if he were to tell me I was 3 cm that I would assume I'd go into labor that night, and then when I had to go back one week later and was still only 3 cm I would be mad at him for telling me in the first place. :) I guess this is one of those times that no news is the best news.
I go back for another check-up in 1-2 weeks, "just whatever I want" according to my doctor, so I have chosen to go back in a week and a half. In the meantime I'm doing lots of walking, hoping that it won't be for a check-up that I go back, but for delivery of this little man! We'll see what happens!!!

Almost There!

Boy is this baby growing!! I am now 34 weeks and am really starting to be able to tell a difference in my belly size from day to day! This is a picture I took of my belly on Friday, July 4th. Now THIS is a picture that I took exactly one week later, on July 11th! I don't know if the difference is as obvious in the pictures as it is in person, but my goodness it's crazy how much he's grown.
I went to the doctor yesterday for my 'almost' 34 week check up and everything still looks good. The baby is still head down, but I'm not being kicked in the ribs quite as much as I was before. I guess that's another sign that he's growing extremely fast, because I went from being kicked continuously in the ribs, to just having feet or knees pushing out the sides! Apparently he's running out of room to do all the gymnastics he has been doing.
I go back in two weeks for another check up and then I will be on weekly visits after that. It won't be much longer now until he gets here!!! And I think we've kind of decided on a name, but I'm still not 100% sure so you'll all have to wait a little longer to find out what it is. :) Sorry!
